No More Gonzo

Alberto Gonzales is no longer our attorney general… While this is certainly not unwelcome news, it is incredibly irritating that he resigned, because that level of incompetence deserves a public firing. It was nice to see Bush is still completely disconnected from reality, with comments about how Gonzales’s name has been dragged through the mud. Got to dig the hyperbole, unless I missed the part where accusing somebody of things he actually did is the equivalent to slander. It’s fucking absurd. I would feel better about this if not for the fact that there’s talk of one of the masterminds of the patriot act becoming the new AG. What a great idea. I can’t think of a better person to uphold the constitution than a person who helped craft a law which does as much to subvert constitutional rights as any in recent memory.

Olbermann aired Sunday on NBC, and did very well. It’s encouraging to see.

I don’t actually have much else to say right this second, sleep and then hopefully finding a place to live are my top two priorities right this second.
